Associação de Psicologia de Macau (APM) was founded in 1998, aimed at promoting Psychology as a basic knowledge to the lay people as well as a professional discipline in Macau. In addition to providing psychology related training to different organizations and governmental departments, such as the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and Legal Affairs Bureau, APM actively participates in public affairs. For example, APM provided counseling service to the frontline healthcare and social workers during the outbreak of SARS in 2003 at the request of the Government of Macau S.A.R,. Sponsored by the Macau Foundation, APM took part in the psychological relief efforts after the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. Invited by the Technology Committee, APM participated in the Information Technology Week 2010.
APM consists of a group of professionals well trained in Psychology. Our members engage in a wide range of professions in the field of psychology, including psychotherapists, educational psychologists, counselors, youth workers, drug rehabilitation workers, human resources personnel, professional supervisors, university lecturers, etc.
